Jason is a dedicated member of the FLaNET Carcinoid Community Board of Directors, blending professional expertise with personal experience. As an Employer Relations Liaison at Moffitt Cancer Center, he leverages his background in corporate relations and human resources to support healthcare initiatives. Jason’s commitment to cancer care was deeply personal, inspired by his wife’s breast cancer diagnosis and his mother-in-law’s battle with a neuroendocrine tumor. These experiences fueled his dedication to supporting others facing similar challenges. At Moffitt, he is recognized for building strong partnerships and promoting patient-centered care. Jason’s unique perspective as both a caregiver and professional enables him to offer valuable insights to the FLaNET Board, enhancing initiatives for those affected by NETs.

Gayle
Gayle Kellon Christensen

Patient

Gayle is an author, actor, musician, and award-winning video producer and editor who grew up in Southern California. She was diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumor cancer (NET) in 2013, and has been successfully living a full life with continuing care from Moffitt Cancer Center. She enjoys being around the patients she meets at Moffitt, and encouraging them with positive words and kind interaction. She always wants to be a source of comfort to others, as other patients have been a source of comfort to her.

Catalina is a mom of two young boys, ages six and four, and full-time professional living in Miami. Her NET journey began in early 2021, just six weeks after giving birth to her second child, when emergency surgery revealed a primary tumor on her ileum. After about a year NED, new lesions appeared. As a member of FLaNET, she has found purpose beyond her diagnosis — building awareness, supporting others, and helping our community navigate life with NETs. Despite the challenges, she focuses on joy, resilience, and creating a hopeful future.

Dr. Chauhan
Aman Chauhan, MD

Medical Advisor

Aman Chauhan, MD, earned his medical degree from the Kasturba Medical College in Manipal, Karnataka, India, followed by a dual residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. Dr. Chauhan completed his fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Kentucky, especially focusing on neuroendocrine tumor (NETs). Additionally, Dr. Chauhan completed a Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program (CTEP) physician externship at the National Cancer institute (NCI) that focused on designing clinical trials and clinical research projects. His clinical interests include treating NETs, including carcinoid tumors, high-grade neuroendocrine carcinomas, and small and large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma. Dr Chauhan leads the University of Miami Neuroendocrine Cancer Program and he is national principal investigator on several investigator-initiated neuroendocrine cancer theranostics clinical trials. He has authored over 80 scientific publications and book chapters and has received career development awards from National Cancer Institute. Dr. Chauhan also serves on AJCC and ASCO NET guideline committees and is an active member of NANETS communication committee.

Dr. Haider is a medical oncologist at Moffitt Cancer Center where she treats patients with neuroendocrine malignancies. Along with providing patient care, she is involved in neuroendocrine focused research to expand clinical resources for her patients.

Jason Starr, DO

Medical Advisor

Jason Starr, D.O., is an oncologist in the Department of Internal Medicine at Mayo Clinic hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. He specializes in gastrointestinal (GI) malignancies and treats several conditions including neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) and neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC). Dr. Starr grew up in South Florida and earned his medical degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, Florida. He did his training at Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education in Jacksonville, where he completed his internship and residency in internal medicine, followed by a hematology/oncology fellowship. Dr. Starr has developed an expertise in treating gastrointestinal malignancies and has co-authored several papers and book chapters on the subject. He has a special interest in neuroendocrine tumors and is committed to advancing the field through clinical research, namely through the development and enrollment of clinical trials. Dr. Starr is also passionate about education and is integrally involved with fellow education and well-being. He is board certified in internal medicine, hematology, and oncology. Dr. Starr is an active member of NANETS communications committee. ‘The greatest joy of my career is the interaction and relationships I am able to have with my patients,” says Dr. Starr.
Dr. Strosberg
Jonathan Strosberg, MD

Medical Advisor

Jonathan Strosberg, MD is a medical oncologist at the Moffitt Cancer Center whose research and clinical interest is focused on neuroendocrine cancers. He has been instrumental in the approval of multiple medical therapies for neuroendocrine tumors and has served as President of the North American Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (NANETS).
Taymeyah
Taymeyah Al-Toubah

Taymeyah holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Biomedical Sciences and Psychology (2015) and a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology (2017). Since 2013, she has worked in academic medicine and clinical research, beginning with neonatology and pediatrics before transitioning to phase I oncology in 2016. Her interest in neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) began during her MPH thesis, which became one of her first NET publications. From 2018 to 2023, she served as the primary NET coordinator at Moffitt Cancer Center, managing all clinical trials, leading the GI team, and driving retrospective and non-interventional research. In 2023, she transitioned to Senior Project Manager of the NET program, overseeing protocol development, database creation, and manuscript writing, while curating a master database of more than 10,000 NET patients. After nearly a decade at Moffitt, she concluded her tenure in September 2025 to begin medical school in Italy the following month. She has published more than 45 manuscripts and delivered oral presentations at both ENETS and NANETS. Beyond institutional research, she serves on the Board of Directors of NANETS (currently in her second year). She is also a founding member of the FLaNET Carcinoid Community, where she serves on the medical advisory committee. She also actively mentors three students in neuroendocrine tumor research: two undergraduate pre-medical students and a high school prodigy pursuing mathematical oncology and AI. In July 2025, she launched TayTalks, a podcast exploring professional growth, medicine, and life. Looking ahead, Taymeyah is eager to combine her research foundation, medical training, and passion for advocacy to advance the care of NET patients as a future physician-scientist.

Rakhi Modak, M.S. brings nearly 10 years of experience in Clinical Research Operations, most recently as the Clinical Research Manager of the Phase 1 Clinical Trials Program at Sylvester Cancer Center, University of Miami, where she has enabled the enrollment to Phase 1 trials of over 120 patients in the last two years and is playing a pivotal role in the development of Theranostics clinical trials program. She has also contributed to the development of tools and processes for streamlining patient prescreening, leading to an increase in the number of patients being offered clinical trials, and facilitated the implementation of oncolytic viruses, TIL, immunotherapy and some other breakthrough treatment options for patients.

Mysti Motz, BSN, RN

Mysti Motz, BSN, RN is a seasoned oncology professional with more than a decade of experience spanning nursing, leadership, and theranostic care. She currently serves as the manager of quality and regulation at Norton Healthcare, where she brings her expertise in neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) and patient-centered program management to the forefront of cancer care and innovation. Previously, Motz was the Program Manager and Lutathera Coordinator for the Neuroendocrine Tumor Program at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, University of Miami. In that role, she coordinated complex theranostic therapies, streamlined multidisciplinary care, and championed clinical excellence for NET patients. Motz earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Middle Tennessee State University and completed her Master of Business Administration at the University of Kentucky in May 2025. Her professional passion lies in patient advocacy, healthcare navigation, advancing cancer research and treatment, and driving meaningful improvements across the healthcare continuum. Beyond her professional pursuits, Motz enjoys immersing herself in new cultures through travel and cooking, reading, and preserving memories through scrapbooking.

Tiffany Romershausen, RN

Tiffany Romershausen is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse serving Neuroendocrine Tumor (NET) patients at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL. She has a diverse background with over 12 years of experience in direct patient care and clinical research. She has a dual bachelors from the University of South Florida in Nursing and Biomedical Sciences. In addition, she holds a Master of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Global Communicable Disease. Tiffany has a zeal for equipping patients with the tools to make informed decisions and is actively engaged in NET clinical trials at Moffitt.

Tiffany Valone, PA

Volunteer

Tiffany Valone is a physician assistant in the Gl department at Moffitt Cancer Center. She started her career at Moffitt in 2006 and began working alongside Dr. Jonathan Strosberg in 2008. She is also the Advanced Practice Provider Supervisor where she oversees 19 nurse practitioners and physician assistants in the Gl department. Besides her clinical and administrative duties, she enjoys educating patients and colleagues about neuroendocrine tumors. She has presented at state and national conferences on NETs and other Gl malignancies. She is active with the NANETS and FLASCO organizations. She received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Philadelphia University and her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Florida
